About Crikzo 200 Mg Crizotinib Capsules – Targeted ALK Inhibitor for Lung Cancer

Crizotinib is a targeted therapy known as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI). It specifically blocks certain abnormal proteins that drive cancer growth, such as ALK (anaplastic lymphoma kinase) and ROS1.

It is mainly used for the treatment of Non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). You will be prescribed this medication only if you test positive on a genetic panel for ALK or ROS gene and having lung cancer. Your doctor will advise you to take crizotinib capsules 200 mg orally two times daily. Patients are advised to swallow the capsules whole and not crush them. They can be taken with or without food.

You should inform your doctor regarding any specific allergies you have or if you are on any other medications. Before taking Crizotinib, you should inform the doctor if: have liver, kidney, or heart problems; are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding (Crizotinib can harm an unborn baby); Take any other medications, including herbal or OTC products — as Crizotinib interacts with several drugs.

In adults the most Common side Effects of crizotinib are Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, swelling in hands or feet, visual disturbances (seeing flashes, blurred vision), fatigue, dizziness.
