About C-Furo CV Dry Syrup

C-Furo CV Dry Syrup is used to treat various bacterial infections, including pharyngitis/tonsillitis (throat infections), otitis media (ear infections), sinusitis (sinus infections), gonorrhoea (sexually transmitted disease), Lyme disease, septicaemia (bloodstream infection), meningitis (inflammation of the brain and spinal cord), and infections of the lower respiratory tract, skin, urinary tract, bones, and joints.

C-Furo CV Dry Syrup combines two antibiotics: Cefuroxime, a cephalosporin antibiotic, and Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Cefuroxime works by preventing the formation of the bacterial cell wall, which is essential for their survival, thus killing the bacteria. Clavulanic Acid decreases bacterial resistance and enhances the effectiveness of Cefuroxime. Together, they effectively treat bacterial infections.

By doing so, this medicine stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.

Usage Instructions

  • C- Furo 125 mg Dry Syrup can be given before or after meals, but administering it with food enhances absorption and reduces the risk of stomach upset in your child.
  • The dosage and duration depend on the type and severity of the infection, so follow the doctor's prescribed dose, timing, and method exactly.
  • If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medication, give the same dose again.
  • However,do not double the dose if it is already time for the next scheduled dose.

  • Liver
    • Safe if Prescribed: C- Furo 125 mg Dry Syrup is safe for use in patients with liver disease, and no dose adjustment is usually needed. However, consult your child's doctor before administering it if your child has a severe liver condition.
  • What if I Forget to Give a Dose?
    • If you miss a dose of C- Furo 125 mg Dry Syrup, give it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for the next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule.
    • Do not give a double dose to make up for the missed one. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule.
  • Encourage your child to drink plenty of water if diarrhoea develops as a side effect.
  • Ensure your child completes the entire course of antibiotics; stopping too soon can cause bacteria to multiply, become resistant, or cause another infection.
  • This medicine is not effective against viral infections like the common cold and flu.
  • Only use C- Furo 125 mg Dry Syrup for your child's current infection; do not save it for future illnesses.
  • Discontinue use and consult the doctor immediately if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties.
