About Lapatinib 250mg Tablet for Cancer Treatment

Hertab Tablets contains Lapatinib 250 mg prescribed for postmenopausal women with HER-2-positive advanced or metastatic breast cancer. It works by blocking HER2 and EGFR signalling pathways inside cancer cells, slowing their growth and division. Hertab is commonly prescribed in combination with Capecitabine or Letrozole in patients whose disease has progressed following prior HER2-targeted therapy. It is a prescription-only oncology medicine available strictly under Schedule H.

Usage Instructions

  • Hertab Tablets should be taken exactly as prescribed by your oncologist. The medicine should be taken on an empty stomach one or 2 hours before a meal.
  • Your physician will recommend the dosage and duration, depending upon severity and body response.
  • Do not skip or double doses to make up for a missed one.
  • Regular monitoring of heart function and liver enzymes is required throughout the course of treatment.

  • Benefits and Use

  • Hertab Tablets helps slow the growth and spread of HER2-positive advanced breast cancer by blocking the signals that cancer cells need to grow.
  • When used in combination with Capecitabine or Letrozole, it provides an effective treatment option for patients whose cancer has progressed after Trastuzumab therapy.
  • This targeted approach helps control tumour growth, delay disease progression, and support better treatment outcomes when used under the guidance of an oncology specialist.

  • Safety Information

  • Pregnancy
  • Hertab Tablets is not recommended during pregnancy, as Lapatinib may cause harm to the developing baby, and effective contraception is advised during and after treatment. Inform your doctor immediately if you are pregnant, suspect pregnancy, or are planning one.
  • Breastfeeding
  • Hertab Tablets is not safe for breastfeeding mothers, as it may pass into the breastmilk. Consult your doctor before starting the treatment.
  • Alcohol
  • Avoid consuming alcohol during treatment, as it may increase the risk of liver-related side effects and worsen certain adverse reactions.
  • Kidney Disorders
  • Hertab Tablets should be used cautiously in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed. Inform your doctor about any pre-existing kidney disorders.
  • Liver Disorders
  • Hertab Tablets can affect liver function and should be used with caution in patients with existing liver impairment, with regular liver enzyme monitoring during treatment. Report any yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine, or unusual fatigue to your doctor immediately.
