About Jakura 5mg Tablets

JAKURA 5 mg Tablets contains Tofacitinib 5 mg, a Janus Kinase (JAK) inhibitor used for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA), Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), and Moderate to Severe Ulcerative Colitis (UC) in eligible patients. It works by blocking Janus kinase enzymes involved in the inflammatory process, thereby reducing abnormal immune activity and inflammation. This helps relieve pain, stiffness, swelling, and other disease symptoms while slowing disease progression and improving physical function and quality of life. JAKURA may be used alone or in combination with other disease-modifying medicines as prescribed by a specialist.

Usage Instructions

  • Take JAKURA 5 mg Tablets exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • It may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time every day.
  • Do not change the dose or discontinue treatment without medical advice, even if your symptoms improve.
  • Regular monitoring of blood counts, liver function, kidney function, cholesterol levels, and signs of infection may be required during treatment.
  • Before starting therapy, your doctor may perform screening for tuberculosis (TB), hepatitis B or C, and other infections.

  • JAKURA 5 mg Tablets is indicated for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, and Moderate to Severe Ulcerative Colitis.
  • By selectively inhibiting Janus kinase enzymes, it reduces inflammation and abnormal immune responses that contribute to these chronic inflammatory diseases.
  • Regular treatment helps relieve joint pain, swelling, stiffness, and inflammation, improves mobility and physical function, slows disease progression, and enhances quality of life.
  • In patients with ulcerative colitis, it also helps reduce symptoms such as diarrhea, rectal bleeding, and abdominal discomfort while supporting long-term disease control.

    • Safety Information

  • Pregnancy:
  • JAKURA is not recommended during pregnancy unless your doctor determines that the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception during treatment.
  • Breastfeeding:
  • Do not breastfeed while taking JAKURA, as the medicine may pass into breast milk and harm the infant.
  • Infection Risk:
  • Tofacitinib suppresses the immune system and increases the risk of serious infections. Inform your doctor immediately if you develop fever, chills, persistent cough, sore throat, or other signs of infection.
  • Tuberculosis & Hepatitis:
  • Screening for TB, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C is recommended before starting treatment.
  • Blood Clots:
  • Rare but serious blood clots may occur. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience sudden chest pain, shortness of breath, swelling or pain in the legs.
  • Kidney Disorders:
  • Use with caution in patients with kidney disease; dose adjustment may be required.
  • Liver Disorders:
  • JAKURA is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
  • Vaccinations:
  • Inform your doctor before receiving any vaccines, particularly live vaccines, during treatment.
  • Driving:
  • The medicine generally does not affect the ability to drive; however, avoid driving if you experience dizziness or feel unwell.
  • Regular blood tests should be performed to monitor blood counts, liver function, kidney function, and cholesterol levels throughout therapy.

    How to Use

  • Swallow one JAKURA 5 mg Tablets whole with water.
  • Do not crush, chew, or break the Tablets.
  • Take it at the same time each day, with or without food, and follow your doctor's prescribed treatment schedule.
