About Midohep Tablet

Midodrine Hydrochloride Tablets USP 2.5 mg contains Midodrine Hydrochloride 2.5 mg, an alpha-1 adrenergic agonist (vasopressor) used to treat symptomatic orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure on standing). Midodrine is a prodrug that is converted into its active metabolite, desglymidodrine, which stimulates alpha-1 adrenergic receptors on blood vessels, causing them to constrict. This increases blood pressure and helps reduce symptoms such as dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, and fainting associated with orthostatic hypotension. It is commonly prescribed for patients with neurogenic orthostatic hypotension or persistent low blood pressure that does not respond adequately to non-pharmacological measures.
