Regular Monitoring: Frequent complete blood counts (CBCs) are required because the medicine can significantly reduce white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets, increasing the risk of infections and bleeding.
Pregnancy: Do not use during pregnancy, as it may harm the unborn baby. Women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception during treatment and for the period recommended by their doctor after the last dose. Men with female partners should also use effective contraception during treatment and for the recommended period afterward.
Breastfeeding: Do not breastfeed during treatment and for the period advised by your doctor after the final dose.
Liver & Kidney Disease: Use with caution in patients with severe liver or kidney impairment, as dose adjustments may be necessary.
Driving: The medicine may cause fatigue, dizziness, or blurred vision. Avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.
Drug Interactions: Inform your doctor about all medicines you are taking, especially antibiotics, antifungals, antiviral medicines, seizure medications, and herbal supplements, as they may affect Palbociclib levels.
Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Common Side Effects: Low white blood cell count (neutropenia), anemia, decreased platelet count, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, hair loss, rash, mouth sores (stomatitis), weakness, fever, and infections.
Seek Immediate Medical Attention if you develop fever, chills, persistent sore throat, severe infection, unusual bleeding or bruising, shortness of breath, chest pain, severe allergic reactions, or persistent cough and breathing difficulties, as these may require urgent medical evaluation.
