Rifguard 400 mg Tablets contains Rifaximin, an antibiotic drug used to treat gastrointestinal infections and disorders. It works by binding to bacterial RNA polymerase, blocking bacterial protein synthesis and preventing bacterial growth in the gut. Rifgaurd is used to treat irritable bowel syndrome and minimise the risk of recurrence of hepatic encephalopathy caused by E. coli.
