About Zidolam Tablet

Zidolam Tablets is a combination antiretroviral medicine containing Lamivudine 150 mg and Zidovudine 300 mg. It belongs to the nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) class and is prescribed as part of combination antiretroviral therapy (ART) for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. The medicine works by blocking reverse transcriptase, an enzyme required by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) to replicate, thereby reducing the amount of virus (viral load) in the body and helping improve immune function by increasing CD4 cell counts. Zidolam helps slow the progression of HIV infection and reduces the risk of HIV-related complications. It is not a cure for HIV/AIDS and does not eliminate the risk of transmitting HIV to others.

Usage Instructions

  • Take Zidolam Tablets exactly as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food, preferably at the same time every day to maintain consistent drug levels.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with water and do not skip doses or discontinue treatment without medical advice, as this may reduce treatment effectiveness and increase the risk of drug resistance.
  • Regular monitoring of blood counts, kidney function, liver function, and overall health may be recommended during treatment.
  • Zidolam is used as part of a complete antiretroviral regimen and should be taken along with other prescribed HIV medicines when advised by your physician.

  • Breastfeeding:
  • Breastfeeding is not recommended in women with HIV, as HIV can be transmitted through breast milk and the medicine may also pass into breast milk.
  • Alcohol:
  • Avoid alcohol during treatment, as it may increase the risk of liver-related side effects.
  • Kidney Disorders:
  • Patients with severe kidney impairment may require dose adjustment and regular monitoring. Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease before starting treatment.
  • Liver Disorders:
  • Zidolam Tablets is not recommended in patients with moderate to severe liver disease. Inform your doctor of any history of liver problems before use.
  • Driving:
  • The medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some individuals. Avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.
  • Continue practicing safe sex and do not share needles, razors, or toothbrushes, as the medicine does not prevent HIV transmission.
