About Lefvaz 10 mg Tablets

Lefvaz contains leflunomide, a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) prescribed for adults with active rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory condition in which the immune system attacks the joints, causing symptoms such as pain, swelling and stiffness. If inflammation remains active, it can also damage joint structures over time.

Leflunomide works by inhibiting dihydroorotate dehydrogenase, an enzyme involved in the body’s production of pyrimidines. This can limit the proliferation of activated lymphocytes, immune cells involved in the inflammatory process. By helping control disease activity, leflunomide may reduce signs and symptoms, inhibit structural joint damage and improve physical function. It is not a general pain reliever or a cure for rheumatoid arthritis, and treatment requires medical supervision and monitoring.
