About Ploxira 2 mg Capsules

Ploxira contains Polmacoxib, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with selective COX-2 inhibitory activity. COX-2 contributes to the production of prostaglandins, which are involved in pain and inflammation. By inhibiting this pathway, Polmacoxib can help manage osteoarthritis symptoms.

Ploxira is used for the symptomatic management of osteoarthritis affecting the knee and hip in adults, as prescribed by a doctor. It may help reduce joint pain, stiffness and swelling and support everyday movement. It does not cure osteoarthritis or reverse existing joint damage.

Usage Instructions

Ploxira is a prescription medicine. The doctor will decide whether it is appropriate and determine the dose and duration of treatment based on the patient’s condition, medical history and other medicines.

Tell the doctor about any history of heart or blood vessel disease, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers or bleeding, kidney or liver problems, asthma, or allergies to pain medicines. Do not start, stop or change treatment without medical advice.

Safety Information

  • Heart and blood vessel risks:NSAIDs can increase the risk of serious cardiovascular events in some people. Tell the doctor about heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol or smoking.
  • Stomach and intestinal risks:Ulcers, bleeding or other serious gastrointestinal problems may occur. Seek medical help for severe stomach pain, vomiting blood or black stools.
  • Kidney, liver and fluid retention: Tell the doctor about kidney or liver conditions, swelling, dehydration or heart failure. Medical monitoring may be recommended.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Consult a doctor before using Ploxira if pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Use in pregnancy requires specific medical advice.
  • Other medicines: Tell the doctor about all medicines being taken. Do not combine Ploxira with other NSAIDs or pain medicines unless the doctor advises it.
  • Stop the medicine and seek urgent medical advice for signs of a serious allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing or swelling of the face or throat.
